Cleansing Cucumber

  • 1-1/2 cup sliced cucumber, frozen
  • 1/2 grapefruit segmented, frozen
  • 1/2 cup peach, frozen
  • 1/2 banana, frozen
  • 1-2 scoops Nourished in 5
  • Coconut water

Purifying Pepper

  • 1-1/2 cup chopped and seeded green bell pepper
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 orange, segmented
  • 1 peach
  • 2-3 pinches cayenne
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1-2 scoops Nourished in 5
  • Coconut Water

Berry Good

  • 3/4 cup raspberries
  • 1-1/4 cup strawberries
  • 1/2 banana, frozen
  • 1/2 cup peaches
  • 1 cup nut milk
  • 1-2 scoops Nourished in 5

Bell Pepper, Fruit & Flax Smoothie

Ingredients (all produce is frozen):

  • Bell peppers
  • Satsumas/oranges/tangerines
  • 1/2 banana
  • Strawberries
  • Coconut water
  • 2 tbsp ground flax seed (helps with hot flashes)
  • 1 scoop Nourished in 5

Cantaloupe Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen cantaloupe
  • ¼ cup basil leaves
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 1 scoop of Nourished in 5

(if it is having difficulty blending, add some water)

 

Green Tea Smoothie

  • ½ cup ice
  • ¾ cup banana, frozen
  • ½ cup kale or spinach
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Splash of cinnamon
  • 1 scoop N5

I Can’t Believe It’s Not a Chocolate Shake

(A wholesome alternative to a chocolate milkshake or a tasty, chocolaty breakfast smoothie!)

Ingredients:

  • ½ – ¾ banana, frozen
  • 2-3 Tbs cacao powder
  • 2-3 Tbs nut butter
  • 1 cup nut milk
  • 1-2 handfuls of ice
  • 1-2 scoops Nourished in 5
  • Optional: 1 Tbs honey

Rockin’ to the Beet

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup beets, raw, frozen
  • ½ cup raspberries, frozen
  • ½ cup strawberries, frozen
  • ½ banana, frozen
  • Juice from ½ lemon
  • ½ cup kefir
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 scoop N5
  • ½ tablespoon honey (optional)
  • Dash of cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions:

  • Blend until smooth.

Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients:

  • Frozen banana
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Scoop of N5
  • 1 Tbsp Cacao powder
  • 1/3 cup water

Directions:

  • Whirl it in a blender or nutribullet

Toppings:

  • Cacao nibs
  • Almonds
  • Bananas

Strawberry Peach Green Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp Nourished in 5
  • 1/2 c strawberries
  • 1/2 c peaches
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 c greens
  • 1/2 cup kefir
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions:

  • According to my calculations: 16.4 g of protein and 8.4 g dietary fiber. So peachy and yummy, really! Try it!!

 

Smoothie Tips

Seasonal Produce:
To get as close to the point of nutrition, use seasonal produce. I will wash and freeze some of my favorite produce so I can enjoy it when the season is over.

Thin? Thick?
Start by adding a little bit of liquid. Once the blend starts, slowly add more liquid until you reach your desired thickness.

Smooth Texture:
Blend until the smoothie has a consistent color and is blending in a smooth swirl. Try not to over blend as it will begin to melt the smoothie from the hear of the blender. If you’re blending without success, blend at a higher speed or stop or move the contents in the smoothie. You may have an air bubble.
For green smoothies, be sure to blend until the green specks turn to a uniform color.

Nutritional Add Ins:
Here are additional ingredients you can add into your smoothies to bump up the nutritional value of your smoothie!
Cayenne powder increases blood flow, stimulated digestion and raises body temperature. It may boost metabolism after consumption. It is also a boost to the immune system and can aid symptoms like congestion. Add a pinch or two to your smoothie.

Aloe Vera juice is a natural soother and healer from the inside out. It strengthens the white bloods cells and immune system, aids digestions, and reduces inflammation. Add 1 teaspoon per 16-ounce smoothie.

Cacao powder is made from cold pressing cacao beans into a paste. Rich in antioxidants and magnesium. Studies show it may be beneficial in heart health, energy and mood.
